The book I read was Hamstersaurus Rex vs. Squirrel Kong by Tom O’Donnell and illustrated by Tim Miller. This book is 167 pages long. (Don’t judge me, it’s funny and good) If you like mutated pets that battle each other, then you will like this book. Also, it’s funny and weird. My favorite part about this book is that it gives details, but it also has cartoony drawings that help the reader actually visualize what they look like.
<SPOILER ALERT!>
READ THE 1ST BOOK BEFORE READING THIS ONE! (IT DOESN’T REALLY MATTER, BUT STILL!)
By the way, I’ll summarize/spoil the 1st book for you if you’re still reading this. So basically, Coach Weekes got some type of drug that gave you “Prehistoric Power” and H. Rex, not a rex right now, dug into the stuff and mutated. Then, Beefer hated him so he tried to kill him at the science fair. Right when a SmilesCorp assistant showed them the invisible doughnut, Beefer’s snake ate it. Then, H. Rex swung him around and threw him out the window. Now, this book starts with Sam Gibbs, the main character, taking H. Rex out of his cage to film a movie. They then get attacked by a giant squirrel. He loses his camera and memory card and runs off. He then, tomorrow, finds out that this giant squirrel smashed through the science room. He tells his best friend, Dylan, and they look for proof of the giant squirrel and his camera. They don’t find anything except his camera, and then they move on. The next day, Martha or something resigns as hamster monitor because H. Rex wasn’t in the cage. Then, he gets called to the principal’s office, where she tells him H. Rex will be sent to the home for troubled pets. (which name I do not know) Will Sam be able to show that Squirrel Kong is real and save H. Rex? Find out in Hamstersaurus Rex vs. Squirrel Kong by Tom O’Donnell and Tim Miller!
